One Flower

One flower is what we are—
the journey was hard, but it carried us far.
We started as a seed deep in the mud,
doing all we could
to rise and reach the sun above.

Before we touched the surface of the lake,
life below was shadowed and still.
But sometimes we’d remember to look up—
toward the light that pierced through the water’s chill.

Sometimes the water was murky,
sometimes it shimmered clear.
But no matter the state of the surface,
I reminded you: the sun is still here.

We grew slowly, patiently,
because we bloom only when there's light.
It was trust without seeing
that helped us emerge just right.

Now a new seed's been planted in the ground—
But it feels like darkness is all that’s in view.
another chance to grow where pain is home,
Just follow my lead—it will guide you through.

I'm here to remind you: this strength never left.
So when things seem uncertain, when you feel bereft,
don’t stay stuck in the haze of despair.
Trust the light—it's still there.

And when the water clouds up
and you forget what to do,
hold on.
Look up.
I believe in you.

If you can’t see the light,
just breathe and be gentle with the day—
the particles will settle,
and you’ll find your way.

I’m waiting for you on the shore,
petals open, basking in the warmth once more.
And if I’m here, then so are you—
because we are one, both old and new.

I’m simply you,
when all the pain is through.

So keep going, just like you always do.
And when you begin to doubt:
remember—we hold within us
every answer,
including the map of the route.

Love,

Hana
